# Campfire > A shared workspace for humans and AI agents. Goals, context, capabilities, decisions, and history stay in one place while Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and other harnesses keep doing the work. Campfire is built by [Boring Infra Co.](https://boringinfra.company/). It does not replace your agents or run an orchestration graph. `campfire up` starts the local API and Viewer; harnesses attach to sessions you open in the tools you already use. ## What Campfire is - **Workspace** - where work for a problem lives (repo path, people, agents) - **Goal** - what the team is trying to accomplish - **Session** - a stretch of human or agent work toward the goal - **Capability** - allowed and denied actions for an agent in that workspace - **Decision** - a human answer that changes the plan - **History** - auditable record of what changed and who decided ## What Campfire is not - Not a multi-agent runtime or workflow engine - Not a replacement for Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or Cursor - Not session handoff for a single agent (see [Harnie](https://boringinfra.company/docs/products/harnie/overview.md)) - Not verification state binding (see [Meno](https://boringinfra.company/docs/products/meno/overview.md)) ## CLI (typical flow) ```bash campfire # once: record local human profile, configure harnesses campfire up # local API + Viewer; connect Codex/OpenCode harnesses campfire status # current workspace, sessions, no secrets in output ``` Open your agent and describe what you are working on; it can create the workspace and goal with you. Viewer defaults to `http://localhost:9415` when `campfire up` is running. ## Install ```bash curl -fsSL https://boringinfra.company/campfire/install.sh | sh # or: brew install boringinfraco/campfire/campfire # or: nix profile install github:BoringInfraCo/Campfire ``` ## Documentation (markdown) - [Overview](https://boringinfra.company/docs/products/campfire/overview.md): Problem, concepts, and pairing with other Boring Infra tools - [Quick start](https://boringinfra.company/docs/products/campfire/quick-start.md): Install, first run, onboard, and status - [Use cases](https://boringinfra.company/docs/products/campfire/use-cases.md): When to use Campfire with agents and teammates - [Agents guide](https://boringinfra.company/docs/guides/agents.md): How Boring Infra tools integrate with coding agents ## Site - [Product page](https://boringinfra.company/campfire): Marketing site, terminal demo, install, FAQ ## Optional - [GitHub](https://github.com/BoringInfraCo/Campfire): Source, issues, and releases - [Boring Infra llms.txt](https://boringinfra.company/llms.txt): All products and company documentation index - [Docs llms.txt](https://boringinfra.company/docs/llms.txt): Full documentation map for AI agents
